Have you ever felt like you don't quite belong?
What made you stand out? Maybe you were the weird kid. The creative one. The too-loud or too-quiet one. The one who got called "too much" or "not enough."
I'm creating a new portrait series about outsiders and seeking models to collaborate with me on this mindful portrait project.
If you are in your 40s, 50s or 60s, grew up feeling different, and chose to stay true to yourself anyway — I'd love to photograph you. Whether your authenticity shows in how you dress, who you love, what you create, or simply how you move through the world. No modeling experience needed. Just show up as yourself.
Ready to be seen?
TO APPLY: Send an email to barbara.muller.bmp@gmail.com with the subject line "Outsider Project." Please include a recent photo of yourself (it doesn't have to be professional) and a short paragraph sharing a bit about your story and why this project resonates with you.
Here is mine to get you started:)
My name is Barbara, which means “a stranger, a foreigner.” I’ve always had it at the back of my mind and strangely,  I ended up living abroad. But my outsider story was mainly shaped by being introverted and queer. I am a late bloomer, so it took me time to find my own voice and trust it. Now, it’s time to walk straight and tall and share what I’ve learnt to hopefully help other people take courage and embrace their otherness.
I can't wait to to hear from you soon!
Yours
Barbara (tall, quiet, queer, foreigner...)
